Job Title: Head Buyer – Rotables & Used Serviceable Material (USM)
Location: Hollywood, FL or remote
Position Overview: The Head Buyer is responsible for the procurement and strategic management of a wide range of USM product lines for Banner Aircraft International. This role leads the full lifecycle sourcing process—identifying supply opportunities, executing purchases of Rotables, LRUs, and other aviation components, and supporting sales through consistent and profitable inventory acquisition.
This position requires advanced technical knowledge of aircraft parts, strong negotiation capabilities, and an ability to build lasting supplier relationships to ensure a reliable and cost-effective pipeline of high-quality material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Leadership
- Prepare detailed bid specifications, requests for quotations (RFQs), and requests for proposals (RFPs) for all USM categories.
- Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and award purchase orders in alignment with Banner’s procurement standards and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the purchasing process from requisition through delivery and invoice reconciliation.
- Sourcing Strategy & Supply Management
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with trusted suppliers, trading partners, MROs, airlines, lessors, and OEMs.
- Secure surplus packages and targeted inventory aligned to Banner’s sales and operational needs.
- Drive profitability by sourcing competitively and optimizing deal structures.
- Inventory & Commercial Management
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Product Line teams to ensure inventory aligns with current and forecasted customer demand.
- Monitor pricing, availability, and market trends to maintain comprehensive product and pricing records in the ERP system.
- Lead margin analysis and propose adjustments to sourcing strategy to improve efficiency and revenue contribution.
- Trading and Sales Support
- Oversee the trading process—assembling, packaging, and positioning surplus material for remarketing.
- Support the sales pipeline by ensuring the availability of well-sourced, traceable parts and timely delivery to customers.
- Participate in key industry events to represent Banner and strengthen its presence in the USM market.
- Performance and Compliance
- Ensure all purchases meet traceability and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, ICAO).
- Maintain high standards for documentation and reporting across the procurement lifecycle.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and improve results.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in aviation procurement, surplus trading, or supply chain management, preferably in USM.
- In-depth knowledge of Rotables, LRUs, and surplus inventory management.
- Strong negotiation, commercial, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with airlines, MROs, and OEM suppliers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory control best practices.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
