Role Purpose (Mission)
The Head of Regional Business Development (India) will build Banner’s Regional Business from the ground up – country by country, carrier by carrier. The primary mission is to establish a high-performing business development network across the region that delivers a qualified, continuously growing portfolio of commercial airline, flag carrier and premium operator accounts.
Geographic Scope
India, including all major domestic aviation hubs, regional carriers, and key aircraft maintenance areas with active Western-built aircraft operations, as well as all other adjacent territories with active Western-built aircraft operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring a deep understanding of regional operational requirements, including the India region regulatory frameworks (such as DGCA specific standards) and business etiquette
- Organization Building: Design and build a lean regional team focused on fast revenue generation. Recruit and manage local professionals who demonstrate immediate commercial impact and deep understanding of the domestic aviation market
- Client Portfolio Development: Map every commercial airline, low-cost carrier, and cargo operator flying Western aircraft across India. Build, qualify, and maintain an active portfolio of decision-makers within airline procurement, supply chain, technical, and executive departments
- Revenue Enablement: Seamlessly hand over qualified regional accounts to Banner’s commercial teams, providing strategic local support to close high-value deals when necessary
- Pipeline & Reporting: Maintain transparent pipeline tracking and provide regular reporting directly to the Global Head of Business Development
- Market Intelligence: Deliver insights on regional competitor activity, localized pricing trends, regulatory shifts, and product gaps. Represent Banner Aircraft at key regional aviation industry events and exhibitions (e.g., Aero India, Wings India)
Required Profile & Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Proven track record of success in the aviation aftermarket industry (aviation parts, MRO, PMA, or OEM sourcing) with specific experience in the Indian market
- Network: Active, deeply established relationships with procurement, supply chain, asset management, and engineering decision-makers within Indian airlines, MROs, and leasing companies.
- Leadership: Extensive experience building, mentoring, and managing sales/business development professionals in India
- Cultural & Regulatory Fluency: Deep familiarity with Chinese business culture, negotiations, and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) frameworks
- Mindset: A highly proactive, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a “build-from-scratch” environment and is strictly focused on immediate revenue generation and operational discipline
Compensation & Structure
- Base retainer + highly competitive commission structure on closed business
- Override commission on all revenue generated by team members
